Maricor and Maricar are twin sisters. While they have an extensive body of work online, it was difficult to find a lot of personal information about them. I’m unsure when they were born, but what I do know is that they were born in the Philippines and moved to in Sydney Australia at the age of two. This is where they work today.
Naomie Ross is a contemporary graphic designer that earned her degree from the School of Visual Arts. She was born and raised in New York City and is still working there to this day and she has been working as a freelancer since 2011.
Ross is a multidisciplinary designer as she works with simple posters with little type, posters with just type, small books or pamphlets and even videos. Continue reading
Life and Education
Dana Tanamachi was born and raised in Texas, though she currently resides in Brooklyn. After receiving her Communication Design degree from the University of North Texas, Tanamachi’s career started with designing Broadway posters for SpotCo. She then went on to work under renown designer Louise Fili. After working for Fili, she opened Tanamachi Studio.
Tanamachi is know for her hand lettered chalk typography. Her design work is primarily featured on large-scale installations, book and magazine covers, and packaging. Her process of creating her chalk art installations is also thoroughly documented in time-lapse videos.

Jesse Ragan was originally from North Carolina, where he began designing letterforms as a child. He graduated from Rhode Island School of Design in 2001 with a BFA in Graphic Design. In 2001, Ragan began his career at Hoefler & Frere-Jones. He contributed to the designs of Gotham, Archer, Mercury, Sentinel, and a handful of other typefaces while working there. During that same year, Ragan became a typeface design intern at the Font Bureau in Boston.
Jessica Hische was born in Charleston, South Carolina; raised in Northeastern Pennsylvania; and went to school at Temple University‘s, Tyler School of Art. She currently goes between living in Brooklyn, New York and San Francisco, California where she does her work.
British born, now based in New York, Craig Ward is no stranger to typography. Since graduating in 2003, he has worked with several agencies in London and made it all the way up to being a Senior Designer and Art Director.
Mike Perry was originally from Kansas City Missouri where he grew up then went to Minneapolis College of Art. Now he lives in Brooklyn New York where he works in his studio.
His first job was designing with Urban Outfitters for 3 years. He also worked with other big names such as Apple, The New York Times, Dwell, Target, Aldo, Nike, AOL, Aerie and many more. In 2012 he made a monograph called Wondering Around Wandering.
Born in Milwaukee, Attended Rhode Island School of Design in Rhode Island, now works in Boston while traveling and giving guest critics and seminars.
Dominique Falla is an Australian artist, that works as a typographer, illustrator, graphic designer, author and a university lecturer. She was born in Melbourne, Austalia, but now works between the Gold Coast and Byron Bay. Best known for her hands on posters, she also creates books and postcards.
Falla began the first 20 years of her artistic career using adobe programs, which she became tired of over a long period of time. She became sick of constantly looking at a computer screen and decided she would intertwine her love of typography and technology by creating posters using string and nails.
